Abstract:This paper explores the procedures of boundary demarcation between Oromia regional state and Addis Ababa city, and of the subsequent amalgamation of local governments in Oromia regional state. In doing so, comparative lessons are drawn regarding procedures of local government boundary changes and amalgamation focusing on the Confederation of Switzerland.
