BPS Skyrmions of Generalized Skyrme Model In Higher Dimensions

Abstract: In this paper, the generalized Skyrme model in higher dimensional flat spacetime is considered. The formulation of spherically symmetric Skyrme model is established by using invariants of strain tensor of the field and generalized hedgehog ansatz. The result is that there are two independent BPS submodels which are the extensions of known BPS Skyrme model in four and five dimensions. Some features of both model are described and numerical solutions are shown for some values of spatial dimension.
