This study aims to investigate the influence of isocitrate dehydrogenase gene family (IDH) mutations, World Health Organization (WHO) grade, and mechanical preconditioning on glioma and adjacent brain elasticity through standard monotonic and repetitive atomic force microscope (AFM) nanoindentation. The elastic modulus was measured ex vivo on fresh tissue specimens acquired during craniotomy from the tumor and the peritumoral white matter of 16 diffuse glioma patients. Linear mixed-effects models examined the impact of tumor traits and preconditioning on tissue elasticity. Tissues from IDH-mutant cases were stiffer than those from IDH-wildtype ones among anaplastic astrocytoma patients (p = 0.0496) but of similar elasticity to IDH-wildtype cases for diffuse astrocytoma patients (p = 0.480). The tumor was found to be non-significantly softer than white matter in anaplastic astrocytomas (p = 0.070), but of similar elasticity to adjacent brain in diffuse astrocytomas (p = 0.492) and glioblastomas (p = 0.593). During repetitive indentation, both tumor (p = 0.002) and white matter (p = 0.003) showed initial stiffening followed by softening. Stiffening was fully reversed in white matter (p = 0.942) and partially reversed in tumor (p = 0.015). Tissue elasticity comprises a phenotypic characteristic closely related to glioma histopathology. Heterogeneity between patients should be further explored.

White book on physical and rehabilitation Medicine (prM) in Europe. chapter 10. science and research in PRM: specificities and challenges European physical and rehabilitation Medicine bodies alliance a b s t r a c t in the context of the White book of physical and rehabilitation Medicine (prM), this paper deals with research, the future of prM. prM students and specialists are mainly involved in biomedical research, investigating the biological processes, the causes of diseases, their medical diagnosis, the evaluation of their consequences on functioning, disability and health and the effects of health interventions at an individual and a societal level. Most of the current PRM research, often interdisciplinary, originates from applied research which, using existing knowledge, is directed towards specific goals. Translational medical research, research and development, implementation research and clinical impact research are in this field. PRM physicians, mainly master or PhD students, are nowadays increasing their participation in basic research and in pre-clinical trials.PRM physicians are involved in primary research, which is an original first hand research, but also in secondary research, which is the analysis and interpretation of primary research publications in a field, with a specific methodology. Secondary research remains an important activity of the UEMS PRM section and it will be the field of the new created Cochrane Rehabilitation. secondary research with interest for persons with disabilities, will be developed world wide on the basis of evidence based medicine, with the participation of prM physicians and of all other health and social professionals involved in rehabilitation.The development of research activities with interest for PRM in Europe is a challenge for the future, which has to be faced now. The European PRM schools, the European master and PhD program with their supporting research and clinical facilities, the European PRM organizations with their websites, the PRM scientific journals and European congresses are a strong basis to develop research activities, together with the development of Cochrane Rehabilitation field and of our cooperation with European high level research facilities, European and international scientific societies in different fields. PRM will be a leader in this field of research.

Abstract-Managing the Performance Evaluation Process plays a leading role in ensuring efficient business entities. At the University of Information Sciences is performed through indicators established models that are reflected in the skills of workers. However, it is not possible to report on their behaviour, nor have techniques for help in making decisions on evaluations. This paper describes the solution to the problem from the computerization of the Performance Evaluation Process for which there was a coded Web application using PHP where an inference engine implemented using aggregation operators for information on the prioritization requirements to contribute to decision-making on the performance evaluation. Codelgniter Fremework was used as database manager PostgreSQL, Public Key Infrastructure to sign electronic documents. The system also provides a set of reports that provide management information to senior management, with agility, accuracy, reduces the cost of material and human resources. Resumen -La gestión en el proceso de evaluación del desempeño juega un papel importante para garantizar la eficiencia en las entidades laborares. En la Universidad de las Ciencias Informáticas se realiza a través de modelos con indicadores establecidos en los que son reflejadas las competencias de los trabajadores. Sin embargo, no es posible realizar informes sobre sus comportamientos, ni contar con técnicas de ayuda en la toma de decisiones para las evaluaciones. La presente investigación describe una solución a la problemática planteada a partir de la implementación de un motor de inferencia basado en operadores de agregación de la información como ayuda a la toma de decisiones sobre la evaluación del desempeño codificado mediante un sistema informático. El sistema propuesto brinda un conjunto de reportes que facilita la gestión de la información a los principales directivos, con agilidad y precisión y disminuye el gasto de recursos materiales y humanos. Se aplica un estudio de caso mediante el cual es posible determinar el índice de concordancia sobre las decisiones asumidas.
