Breast MRI in Pregnancy-Associated Breast Cancer

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of MR imaging and to describe the MR imaging findings of pregnancy-associated breast cancer. Materials and Methods: From 2006 to 2013, MR images of 23 patients with pregnancy-associated breast cancer were retrospectively evaluated. MR images were reviewed to evaluate lesion detection and imaging findings of pregnancy-associated breast cancer. MR images were analyzed by using the Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System and an additional MR-detected lesio… Show more

“…This range is consistent with the reported population of the vibrationally excited ligand after the photolysis of ligated Mb, a similar heme system. When MbNO and MbCO were photoexcited by a 575 nm photon, approximately 15% of NO 67 and 6% of CO, 77,78 respectively, were deligated in the vibrationally excited state. When the same energy is deposited into the deligated ligand, as more energy is partitioned into its vibrational energy, less energy will be partitioned into its translational energy, resulting in a smaller initial separation.…”

“…Despite the increased background parenchymal enhancement and T2 signal heterogeneity during pregnancy and shortly afterward, MRI may be a reliable modality of evaluating the extent and severity of PABC (Fig. 13) [5,19,20].…”
