Breed Effects on Dieldrin Accumulation in the Fat of Growing Chickens

Abstract: Higher concentrations of dieldrin were found in the fat of White Leghorns than in White Rock chickens fed 1 mg/kg of the insecticide from day-old through 8 weeks. The difference was related to the difference in rate of fat deposition in the carcasses of the two breeds. (
