“…More or less alike information has been published by earlier authors like (Azadi and Siddique, 1986;Marimuthu and Haniffa, 2007;Narejo et al, 2015) in Channa striata from elsewhere. Similar observation was also published by various workers in different fish species like Narejo et al (2006) in Gudusia chapra, Mastoi et al (2008) in Labeo calbasu, Chandio et al (2016) in Notopterusnotopterus, Bakht et al (2020) in Cyprinus carpio, Thebo et al (2022) in Ompokpabda, reported alike information related to the findings.…”

“…Similar findings (140 -535) were also reported by Srivastava et al (2012) conducted in River Gomti for individuals of 18 -18.9 cm. Chandio et al (2016) worked on N. notopterus in Keenjhar Lake of Pakistan and reported a fecundity of 105 -1500 eggs in fishes of 18.5 -30.5 cm. In the present study, the relationship between fecundity and body length was found to be positively correlated with r = 0.54 which was less than that reported by Chandio et al (2016) who reported r value of 0.99.…”

In the present study, the relationship between fecundity and body length was found to be positively correlated with r = 0.54 which was less than that reported by Chandio et al (2016) who reported r value of 0.99. This may be due to lesser number of samples ( 20) collected during the present study for deriving the relationship between fecundity and body length of fish.…”

“…The knowledge of fish reproduction is the most important in sustainable fisheries management, as well as to sustain fish processing business especially in Barito Kuala District. Numerous studies closely related to the featherback have been devoted to describe on reproductive biology [13,32,33], fecundity [6,34,35], genetic [36,37], length-weight relationship and condition factor [15,38], feeding habits [39,40], the age and growth [41], population dynamics [19], culture strategy [42,43] and conservation measures for this species [20,44]. In addition, Wibowo and Marson [37] reported that morphometric and meristic of N. chitala from Barito River, South Kalimantan were similar to those of C. lopis and N. notopterus from Kampar River, Riau Province, but genetically different from each other.…”
