Brucellosis Among Horses in India: A Serological Study

Abstract: SUMMARY Of the 424 serum samples from equines tested for the presence of Brucella‐agglutinins, 15 (3.5 per cent) showed positive and 50 (11.8 per cent) doubtful titres for Brucella‐infection. Aborted mares showed higher incidence of brucellosis—7.6 per cent positive and 37.9 per cent doubtful. The significance of the presence of Brucella‐agglutinins in mares has been discussed.
