“…The authors of the paper created a special plugin that allowed extrapolation of data directly from the design program for further calculations. This approach confirmed that the I-BIM application is not only an effective tool for optimization and verification of road design against standards before construction, but also for showing how the infrastructure works within the 3D real-world environmental context (Vingali, et. al., 2021).…”

“…Esfahani et al ( 2021) used scan to-BIM technology to scan and model the built environment of buildings, studies the accuracy and certainty of software modeling process, and provides support for decision makers in the operation and maintenance and reconstruction of existing buildings. Vignali et al (2021) used existing I-BIM, namely infrastructure information management system, to optimize and upgrade a road construction scheme in Italy, generating a 3D parametric model of the complete road and visualizing it in a real environment. The results show that I-BIM method is not only a powerful tool to optimize and verify the project scheme according to the specifications before project construction, but also can simulate the synergy between project environment and the infrastructure.…”

“…The term BIM means "Building Information Modeling" and refers to the computerized modelling of a generic building construction, and the term 4D refers to the fourth dimension i.e time. This technology is based on organizing all the information about objects (Vignali et al, 2021), by associating time-related information to 3D models to enable the visualization of the sequence of construction operations (Heigermoser et al, 2019). Hence, each element can be visualized and attached to a certain task in a given schedule.…”
