Bulk gauge and matter fields in nested warping: I. The formalism

Abstract: The lack of evidence for a TeV-mass graviton has been construed as constricting the Randall-Sundrum model. However, a doubly-warped generalization naturally avoids such restrictions. We develop, here, the formalism for extension of the Standard Model gauge bosons and fermions into such a six-dimensional bulk. Apart from ameliorating the usual problems such as flavour-changing neutral currents, this model admits two very distinct phases, with their own unique phenomenologies.

“…These massive KK modes give us the possibility of probing extra dimensions through their interactions with particles in the Standard Model [142][143][144][145][146][147][148]. Localization and resonances of various bulk matter fields on a brane have been investigated in five-dimensional brane models [17,46,55,84,138,139, and six-dimensional ones [151,[190][191][192][193][194][195][196]. In this section we will review some works about localization of bulk matters on thick branes with the following metric…”

“…In Fig.1, we display V eff (k) for a fixed value of the mass parameter µ (equivalently, m). As is obvious, depending on the ratio v 2 /v 1 , minima exist for 0.1 < ∼ k < ∼ 0.6, the range that is of particular interest not only to explain the non-observation (so far) of the KK-graviton at the LHC [18,19], but also for scenarios wherein the SM fields are extended in to the bulk [20,21]. What is particularly encouraging is that such minima arise for very natural values of the parameters and are not overly sensitive to their precise values.…”

“…(24) in eqn. (20) and integrate over x 5 to yield an effective potential V eff (r z ), it is not necessary to do so. Rather, note that the very structure of the solution (eqn.24), along with the boundary-localized potential ensures that…”

“…It is, thus, interesting to consider the possibility of allowing the SM fields into the bulk of such a nested warping scenario, and we had developed this formalism in ref. [40], hereafter referred to as Paper I. The construction has several striking features.…”
