This study aimed to explain the contribution of parenting styles on children’s perception of being adequately heard by parents and their subjective well-being across three bullying groups (perpetrators, victims, and uninvolved). Participants (N = 1,294; 54.8% girls; 45.2% boys) were elementary school (47.3%) and junior high school students (52.7%) in Bandung City. Parenting styles were measured using Egna Minnen Beträffande Uppfostran for Children. Subjective well-being was measured using the Children's Worlds Subjective Well-Being Scale. Being adequately heard by parents was measured using the Children's Worlds measure. Data were analysed using linear regression and descriptive analysis. Parenting styles contributed significantly to children’s perception of being heard by parents and their subjective well-being. Parenting styles contributed differently across the three groups and genders. The uninvolved perceived that their parents were warm. The perpetrators perceived their parents as rejective. The victims perceived their parents as overprotective. The perpetrators displayed the lowest SWB score, while the uninvolved displayed the highest SWB score. Warm mothers showed a significant positive effect on children’s SWB and perception that they were adequately heard. Overprotective fathers showed a significant positive effect on children’s SWB because father was perceived as the family's head who protects their children. It is suggested that parents should practice warm rearing to prevent children’s involvement in bullying

Perundungan di sekolah merupakan permasalahan serius yang mempengaruhi kesehatan mental siswa. Angka perundungan di Indonesia masih tinggi, salah satunya disebabkan program intervensi pencegahan perundungan di Indonesia masih bersifat sektoral, sehingga belum berhasil memecahkan permasalahan ini. Terdapat dua program intervensi pencegahan perundungan yang telah teruji keberhasilannya secara internasional, yaitu Olweus Bullying Prevention Program dan KiVa. Tulisan ini dibuat untuk menjelaskan keunggulan dan evaluasi dari kedua program pencegahan perundungan tersebut, sehingga dapat menjadi bahan masukan bagi peneliti di Indonesia yang tertarik untuk mengembangkan program intervensi pencegahan perundungan yang lebih komprehensif. Diskusi difokuskan pada proses pembuatan program intervensi pencegahan perundungan, implementasi program, serta evaluasi untuk menguji efektivitas program. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan pentingnya mengembangkan program pencegahan perundungan berbasis sekolah yang melibatkan seluruh komponen di sekolah, terintegrasi di dalam kurikulum sekolah, bersifat nasional, dan berlangsung dalam jangka panjang. Pengujian keberhasilan program juga penting dilakukan dan sebaiknya menggunakan randomized controlled trial.

Bullying is a serious problem that affects children's mental health and well-being. The number of bullying cases in Indonesia is among the highest in Asia. However, the bullying prevention programs are limited and have not decreased the number of bullying cases in Indonesia. Therefore, this study aims to design the bullying prevention psychoeducational intervention for the victims. This mixed-methods study using internet-based data collection was conducted in Bandung City, West Java, Indonesia. The study participants were elementary students (N = 3, two girls and a boy) aged nine years old who were school bullying victims. Bullying actions were measured by the reported frequency of experiencing being bullied by other children at school. Children also reported their perception of school climate. Two focus group discussions were conducted for needs analysis and discussed the design, which was prepared based on the need analysis results. Results showed that group psychoeducational intervention was needed to assist children from being victimized. Group psychoeducational intervention was designed through two phases of development (conceptual phase and operational phase), where each phase includes three steps. Results were discussed using Furr's model for the design of a structured group psychoeducational program.
