Bunches of random cross-correlated sequences

Abstract: The statistical properties of random cross-correlated sequences constructed by the convolution method (likewise referred to as the Rice or the inverse Fourier transformation) are examined. We clarify the meaning of the filtering function-the kernel of the convolution operator-and show that it is the value of the cross-correlation function which describes correlations between the initial white noise and constructed correlated sequences. The matrix generalization of this method for constructing a bunch of N cros… Show more

“…Nevertheless, it is possible to achieve resonance radiation in a given direction for random-impedance gratings, if we design a random process (variable part of the impedance) in a special way, by presetting the required form of the correlation function. The recipe for such a "construction" of random processes was suggested in papers [57,58]. Thus, by setting a random impedance with the required correlation properties, it is possible in practice to implement controlled directed radiation of the field scattered by a plasmon-polariton due to collision with the defects of the interface.…”

“…We again must apply the rule (56) to all of three terms in the right-hand part of Eq. (58). By the iteration of this procedure with all equations (54) as many times as necessary we get the following set of equations for mean values appearing in Eq.…”
