C–H Bond Activation of Benzene, Toluene, 3,3‐Dimethyl‐1‐butene and Methane by Silica‐Supported TaV Imido Amido Surface Complex

Abstract: The well-defined silica-supported tantalum(V) surface complex [(ϵSiO) 2 Ta(=NH)(NH 2 )] undergoes H/D exchange when exposed to deuterated benzene, toluene, 3,3-dimethyl-1-butene and methane. In the case of the two facile benzene and toluene activation reactions, * Dr. E. A. Quadrelli Fax: +33-4-72431795 E-Mail: quadrelli@cpe.fr [a] Equipe "

“…Many efforts for C–H bond activation of the methylarenes were devoted towards noble metal catalysts such as Rh and Pd . In a view of effective cost, the exploration of earth–abundance element photocatalyst in C–H bond activation was imperative . Here, we carried out the photocatalytic activation experiments with p ‐xylene as the substrate catalyzed by Cd 0.5 Zn 0.5 S and Ni 2 P@Cd 0.5 Zn 0.5 S with visible‐light irradiation under the protection of Ar at room temperature.…”
