Intersecting Twelve-Ring Channels. -The new title compound is hydrothermally synthesized from an aqueous mixture of Al2O3, H3PO4, and piperazine (autoclave, 180°C, 3 d) and its structure is determined by single crystal XRD. It crystallizes in the trigonal space group R3 with Z = 9. The strict alternation of AlO 4 , PO 2 (=O) 2 , and PO 3 (=O) tetrahedra via bridging oxygen atoms results in a three-dimensional open-framework with helical chains forming multi-directional intersecting 12-ring channels. 22 mol% of the protonated piperazinium cations can be exchanged by Na + cations. -(TONG, X.; HUANG, P.; LU, H.; YAN*, W.; YU, J.; XU, R.; Inorg.
