“…In addition, we treated the S100A6-downregulated group with SKL2001 and found that compared with the untreated S100A6-downregulated group, apoptosis increased, indicating that S100A6 regulates the apoptosis of NPCs through Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. It’s been well known that Ca 2+ -binding proteins modulate Hippo signaling (Sayedyahossein et al 2023 ) and also β-Catenin-signaling require YAP/Hippo signaling for cell survival and tumorigenesis (Rosenbluh et al 2012 ), while it has also been shown recently that Hippo signaling is involved in drug resistance (Mukhopadhyay et al 2023 ). Therefore, whether S100A6 regulates Hippo signaling pathway and its biological effects are worthy of further exploration in future studies.…”

“…Almost all cell types, including excitable and non-excitable cells, have a flexible signalling mechanism that is based on this spatiotemporal organisation (Spolaor, et. al., 2022;Sayedyahossein, et. al., 2023).…”

“…The increase in intracellular calcium levels can lead to the dephosphorylation and nuclear translocation of YAP, transforming it into a transcriptional co-activator ( Sayedyahossein et al, 2023 ). Once in the nucleus, YAP collaborates with β-catenin, forming a YAP/β-catenin complex that directly interacts and upregulates osteogenic, chondrogenic, and angiogenic factors crucial for bone repair and regeneration ( Liu Y. et al, 2022 ).…”
