“…Its IR spectrum displays a very strong and broad absorption band at about 1592 cm À1 , which corresponds to the antisymmetric vibrations of the tda carboxylate groups [13]. The IR spectrum is identical to that of the structurally characterized complex [Cd(tda)(H 2 O)] n [14] and, consequently, we proposed a similar polymeric structure for 1. The reaction of aqueous solutions of 1 with o-phenanthroline (phen) gives the dinuclear compound [Zn(tda) (phen)] 2 AE 5H 2 O (2), which can be isolated in good yields as a colourless crystalline solid [15].…”
