Calcium Carbonate Mineralization of Microalgae

Abstract: Biological substrates catalyze the nucleation and growth of sparingly soluble salts however, the underlying mechanism is largely unknown. In the present study, the growth of calcium carbonate (CaCO3), on Acutodesmus obliquus (AO) microalgae was investigated.
