“…Coefficient of retention of calcium was 40.5%, which was somewhat lower than 42.8–47.7% reported in Golden pheasant [Sultan et al, ]. Based upon the endogenous losses and coefficient of retention it was estimated that an LAP would require 328 mg Ca/kg BW 0.75 /d and a diet containing 0.75% Ca would be adequate to meet maintenance requirement of calcium in LAP, which is within the range of 0.53–0.93% recommended for Ring‐necked pheasants [Scott et al, ; Hinkson et al, ]. Results of this experiment indicate that Ca requirement of LAP could be similar to that of ring‐necked pheasants.…”
