Calculation of thermodynamic parameters of Mg-Al-Y alloy

Abstract: Video instance segmentation is a challenging task that serves as the cornerstone of numerous downstream applications, including video editing and autonomous driving. In this report, we present further improvements to the SOTA VIS method, DVIS. First, we introduce a denoising training strategy for the trainable tracker, allowing it to achieve more stable and accurate object tracking in complex and long videos. Additionally, we explore the role of visual foundation models in video instance segmentation. By utili… Show more

“…It indicates that the stable Al-Y intermetallic phases are first formed in the Mg-Al-Y system. This is consistent with the thermodynamic calculation results in the literature [9]. In addition, the Al 4 MgY phase is the only ternary phase reported in the Mg-Al-Y system [22].…”

“…The thermodynamic properties and the calculated phase diagrams are consistent with the literature. Huang et al [9] have calculated the excess free-energy, enthalpies of formation, excess entropies and activity values of all components of Mg-Al-Y ternary alloy via the Miedema formation enthalpy model. The results show that enthalpies of formation, excess free-energy and excess entropies of the ternary alloy are negative in the whole content range.…”

“…When the compound has a more negative enthalpy of formation, it is easier to be formed. The Miedema semi-empirical model (equations ( 1) and (2)) is usually used to calculate the enthalpy of formation [24]:…”

“…The mechanism for strengthening AZ61-XSm magnesium alloys may be attributed to the following factors: 1) dispersion strengthening: according to the enthalpies of formation for Al-Sm system (-38 kJ/mole) smaller than those of Mg-Al, Mg-Sm and Zn-Sm system (-15, -6, 8 kJ/mole, respectively) [22] , Sm atoms will firstly react with Al atom and form Al 2 Sm phase, which has been proved by the above mentioned results. The discontinuous β-Mg 17 Al 12 phase presented in modified alloys shows that Sm atoms in alloys have fully reacted.…”
