The management philosophy constitutes the support of the structure in the organizations, since an adequate construction facilitates that the administrative processes are aligned for the fulfillment of the outlined objectives. Thus, the purpose of the article is to determine the elements of the management philosophy that constitute the support of competitiveness in construction companies in the department of Atlántico-Colombia. A positivist-quantitative approach was assumed, analytical research, non-experimental, transversal, field design; applying a questionnaire, attitudinal scale with 22 items, validated by experts and Crombach's alpha reliability of 0.89, to an intentional sample of 27 companies that work in the sector. Statistically, the SPSS version 21 program was used, applying variance analysis, to make comparisons between indicators or dimensions within a multidimensional instrument. Tukey's Post Hoc test and Student's t-test were applied to obtain means by indicator, dimensions, variable and its positioning. It was found that the establishment of the vision, mission, values and objectives are fulfilled, with weaknesses in the performance of the latter impacting competitiveness.
