Abstract: Background. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a major cause of disease burden worldwide. Patients with COPD have impaired quality-of-life due to dyspnoea, frequent exacerbations, limitation of exercise capacity, muscle dysfunction, and malnutrition.
