Cancer—A Rehabilitation Challenge

Abstract: In view of the increasing numbers of patients surviving and being cured of cancer, increased attention must be focused on their need for vocational rehabilitation services. We, as rehabilitation professionals, must begin exploring and evaluating our attitudes toward cancer; begin developing counseling, training, and case service technologies to facilitate the rehabilitation of the cancer patient; and in our professional capacities begin to become more involved in the rehabilitation of the cancer patient.
