Canine visceral leishmaniasis in the Northeast Region of Brazil

Abstract: BackgroundVisceral leishmaniasis (VL) is a zoonosis that affects dogs and other mammals, including humans. Contact with dogs is a major risk factor for humans. This disease is endemic in several regions of Brazil.
