“…Peruvian grunt Anisotremus scapularis (von Tschudi, 1846) is a marine fish native to the eastern South Pacific of importance in the artisanal fishery of Peru (Medicina, 2014) with potential for aquaculture (Espinoza‐Ramos, Chilli‐Layme, Pepe‐Victoriano, Pino‐Choqueapaza, & Contreras‐Mamani, 2019; Montes, Castro, Linares, Orihuela, & Carrera, 2019), and exhibits carnivorous bentophage habits forming large shoals (Angel & Ojeda, 2001; Berrios & Vargas, 2004; Ruiz & Wolff, 2011).
