Show more

“…Both can be based on the age, size, or life stage of individuals in a population (Rabinovich 1980;Gotelli 2008;Carey and Roach 2020). Static life tables are commonly used to study the dynamics of long-lived individuals since it is impractical to wait until all individuals die to assess a population (Hegazy et al 2008;Herrerías and Nieto de Pascual 2020).…”

“…Furthermore, given their presence in the agriculture and urban areas, we expected alien plants to be strongly integrated into the interaction networks ( Maruyama et al, 2016 ; Parra-Tabla et al, 2019 ), to the point that they may have a similar contribution to network structure as native plant species. In Mexico, juniper forests occupy approximately 0.15% of the national territory, yet ecological knowledge of this forest type and its role in biodiversity conservation is precarious ( Aguirre-Calderón, 2015 ; Herrerías Mier & Nieto del Pascual, 2020 ). Finding out the impact of the conversion of this native habitat on the interacting communities of butterflies and their plants will be a first step in highlighting the need for their study and conservation.…”
