CARACTERIZAÇÃO BOTÂNICA E CADEIA PRODUTIVA DA ESPÉCIE Dipteryx alata Vogel

Abstract: The Cerrado is the second largest Brazilian biome and has a high biodiversity. Its fruit trees require low maintenance costs because they require few chemical inputs and can be used in deforested or degraded areas. However, few species are known for their botanical characterization and productive chain, one being Dipteryx alata Vogel. This species is a legume with high economic potential and wide range of use, mainly for the use of non-timber forest product. The exploitation of D. alata is carried out in an ag… Show more

“…The economic potential of D. alata is due mainly because of the pulp and the seed of its fruits, which are used in natura or for the manufacture of ice creams, liqueurs, roasted nuts and other products by small industries. The species D. alata also has utility for forage, medicinal, recovery of degraded areas, landscaping and wood extraction (Sano et al 2004;Soares et al 2015;Ferreira et al 2018). Although D. alata is considered a valuable genetic resource for Cerrado, few genetic investigations are available and genomic studies are rare.…”

“…This tree is of economic importance mainly because of the pulp (mesocarp) and seeds (seeds) of its fruits, which are edible and used to manufacture ice creams, liqueurs, toasted nuts, and other products by small and medium-sized industries. The seeds have a pleasant taste and are rich in protein, essential minerals, fiber and lipids (Ferreira et al, 2018). In addition, D. alata has value in medicine, as a forage plant, in the recovery of degraded areas, in landscaping and as wood (Sano et al, 2004;Soares et al, 2015).…”
