Carbamoylethylation of moghat mucilage

Abstract: Mucilage isolated from the grinded roots of Glossostemon bruguieri (Desf.) (moghat) was subjected to carbarnoylethylation, which involved the reaction of the moghat mucilage with acrylamide along with sodium hydroxide as a catalyst. The reaction was found to depend on the acrylarnide concentration as well as on temperature.
