“…Significantly, this time span (ca. 1,200–1,050 Ma) at the end of the Mesoproterozoic also witnessed the emplacement of several lampoite and kimberlite pipes in the Dharwar, Bundelkhand, and Bastar cratons (emplacement ages summarized in Chalapathi Rao, Burgess, Anand, & Mainkar, 2007; Chalapathi Rao et al, 2010, b, c; Haggerty & Birkett, 2004) which supports the notion of a widespread deep‐seated thermal perturbation across the Indian Shield (Pandey & Chalapathi Rao, 2020). The Kolhan Group and the Sausar Group are likely to represent homotaxial stratigraphic units that record the history of an interrupted extension along the CITZ in between the Columbia and Rodinia supercontinent cycles.…”
