“…7,8 Carboplatin has induced FS-like syndrome in rats by causing renovascular damage, which was ameliorated with pentoxifylline administration. 9 A mean reduction in the serum magnesium levels by 0.42 mg/dL was observed after carboplatin infusion, and there was a negative correlation between serum magnesium concentration and cumulative area under the curve dose of carboplatin. 10 The other chemotherapy agents received during adjuvant therapy were etoposide, cyclophosphamide and doxorubicin.…”

“…In order to prevent and handle this emergency situations, we can choose both conventional medication or treatment and traditional chinese medicine treatment and nursing. On one hand, we can use pentoxifylline-non-speci c phosphodiesterase inhibitor or pravastatin as adjuvant drugs [13][14][15]or giving plenty of water adding magnesium to reduce kidney damage [16,17], and if AKI has happened, we should remove the cause correct electrolyte imbalance or choose symptomatic drugs even alternative therapy. On the other hand, traditional chinese medicine treatment and nursing can also be useful.…”
