Abstract: Clopidogrel pharmacotherapy is associated with substantial interindividual variability in clinical response, which can translate into an increased risk of adverse outcomes. Clopidogrel, a recognized substrate of hepatic carboxylesterase 1 (CES1), undergoes extensive hydrolytic metabolism in the liver.
