“…Eleven trials [8-12, 17, 19, 21, 23-25] were conducted in critically ill patients requiring ICU care; 5 trials used continuous RRT (CRRT) as a modality of treatment [8,[19][20][21]24], 5 trials utilized both CRRT and intermittent hemodialysis (IHD) [9,11,12,17,25], and 4 trials used IHD as a modality of RRT [7,18,22,23]. Four trials reported both day 30 and day 90 mortality [11,12,20,21], 6 trials reported day 30 mortality [8,12,17,19,24,28], and one trial reported day 90 mortality [25]. Three trials had low risk of bias in all domains [11,12,24], remaining 11 trials had unclear or high risk of bias in one or more of the following domains (random sequence generation, allocation concealment, blinding, incomplete outcome data, and reporting bias) (see online suppl.…”

“…Patient with end-stage kidney disease receiving maintenance dialysis is more likely to have a premature death due to sudden cardiac arrest (20 times greater than to general population), and the outcome following cardiopulmonary resuscitation is less favorable in this population [28]. Despite poor outcomes following resuscitation in this population, the available literature shows that patients on dialysis are more likely to receive cardiopulmonary resuscitation than general population [28]. Further studies are needed to amalgamate discussions about code status in patients receiving dialysis.…”

“…In the Original Investigation titled “Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Preferences of People Receiving Dialysis,” 1 published August 24, 2020, 2 surveys from 3 study participants were erroneously included in the analyses. After excluding the results of the second survey for each of these 3 participants, 1592 patients were approached, 1431 were invited to participate, 1006 agreed to participate, and 873 (61.0%) were included in the corrected analyses.…”
