Abstract:Background:
The intramuscular (IM) administration of 7.5–10 mg/kg of alfaxalone produces anesthetic effects that enabled endotracheal intubation with mild cardiorespiratory depression in dogs. However, the effects of IM co-administration of medetomidine, butorphanol, and alfaxalone on cardiorespiratory function under inhalation anesthesia have not been studied.
