Abstract: IntroductionX-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH) is caused by an inactivating mutation in the phosphate-regulating endopeptidase X-linked (PHEX) gene whose defective product fails to control phosphatonin fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) serum levels.
