Care of the skin in the elderly person

Abstract: The skin is the largest organ in the body, and provides a protective barrier between the environment and ourselves (Cameron, 1997). It also mirrors the health status of the person, giving greater insight into the client's physical, social and psychological status. Therefore, those who give skin care and help with personal hygiene are in the perfect position to assess the skin status (Lawley, 1991). This article will provide information and advice on how to care for the skin of elderly patients.
