“…For example, the N-way method to define the construct and an international collaboration in item generation are emic, but the use of only U.S. samples at the first stage of the item selection process, mono-linguistic (English) generation of items (Savickas & Porfeli, 2012) is more indicative of etic approaches in assessment (Berry, Poortinga, Segall, & Dasen, 2002).
