Abstract: In up to 2% of the population, benign tumours called lipomas can develop. When they are more than 5 cm, they are considered giant lipomas. Giant lipomas of the distal forearm and hand may cause compression to the underlying tissues, nerves and muscles, even though they are typically asymptomatic.
