Abstract:Cartilage endplate cell (CEPC) and nucleus pulposus cell (NPC) inflammation are critical factors that contribute to intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD). Recent evidence indicated that iron ion influx, reactive oxygen species (ROS), and the cGAS‐STING pathway are involved in CEPC inflammatory degeneration.
