“…In this study, the authors reviewed all the clinical series dealing with head and neck CHS, summarizing the most important aspects found by each author. Using the PUBMED/MEDLINE database revealed 16 manuscripts since 1960, when KRAGH et al 16 published the first series of CHS of the jaw and facial bones, evaluating 10 patients and highlighting the importance of surgical treatment.…”

“…Five year survival in case of chondrosarcoma maxilla has been reported to vary from 62% to 40% (Fu & Perzin 1974;and Kragh et al 1960). Since chondrosarcoma of premaxilla is still rarer entity there have been only a few reports to 'imperfectly' predict a 5 year survival.…”
We present a very unique case of a premaxillary chondrosarcoma arising in a relatively 'younger' female with apparently much 'better' disease free 7-year survival. The literature has been reviewed and a meaningful discussion regarding diagnosis and treatment is highlighted.
“…A review of the world literature on nasal chondromata revealed the alar cartilages to be the rarest site of origin. In 1960, Kragh et al [3] reported an almost similar case with a mass over the tip of the nose in a 46-year-old female. Thereafter, there are two individual case reports of benign chondromata of the nasal vestibule and ala nasi, but there was no visible connection with the alar cartilages in either of these cases [4,6].…”
