Abstract:Wooden chest syndrome (WCS) is a rare phenomenon of opioid-induced skeletal muscle rigidity causing respiratory failure and inability to ventilate. The most common opioid associated with WCS is the synthetic opioid fentanyl. Fentanyl has been called the deadliest drug in America.
