Case Series of Gastric Hepatoid Adenocarcinoma

Abstract: Hepatoid adenocarcinoma of the stomach (HAS) is a rare form of gastric cancer that histologically resembles hepatocellular carcinoma and is characterized by large amounts of alpha fetoprotein in the serum. The prognosis of HAS is poor compared to that of primary gastric cancer with five-year survival rates of 9% and 44%, respectively. Here, we report five patients diagnosed with HAS.
