The differential diagnosis of "intracardiac mass" in the region of the mitral annulus, detected by echocardiography, can be challenging. A multimodal approach is usually required to clear up. Sometimes the nature of detected mass may be due to subvalvular mitral annular calcification. The presented series of case reports emphasizes the importance and clinical significance of computed tomography in identifying and characterization subvalvular mitral annular calcification with ambiguous results of other diagnostic methods, in particular echocardiography.
