In studies of uranium mineralization associated with the Catahoula Formation, Galloway (1977) (1981) concluded that there is considerably less potential for the occurrence of uranium deposits in east Texas compared to south Texas. In the present study, three samples of silty clay (two of them lignitic) from the Whitsett Formation, penetrated in auger hole 52, were analyzed for uranium.…”
