A new image enhancement algorithm employing guided filtering is proposed in this work for enhancement of solar images and videos, so that users can easily figure out important fine structures imbedded in the recorded images/movies for solar observation. The proposed algorithm can efficiently remove image noises, including Gaussian and impulse noises. Meanwhile, it can further highlight fibrous structures on/beyond the solar disk. These fibrous structures can clearly demonstrate the progress of solar flare, prominence coronal mass emission, magnetic field, and so on. The experimental results prove that the proposed algorithm gives significant enhancement of visual quality of solar images beyond original input and several classical image en-hancement algorithms, thus facilitating easier determi-nation of interesting solar burst activities from recorded images/movies.

ResumenEste artículo de revisión muestra el estado de la didáctica de la lógica -DL-y se propone incluir en este campo el método abductivo. Esta iniciativa surge de los resultados de la investigación doctoral y del análisis documental de DL. Este análisis corrobora que los didactas se focalizan en ciencias y disciplinas que sustentan la lógica y, aunque señalan algunas estrategias, relegan las posibilidades que la abducción brinda a la DL. Esta permite la construcción de una estrategia didáctica que -apoyada en la abducción-promueve en maestros y estudiantes una visión razonable de lógica, didáctica y sociedad; de allí la nominación de didáctica de la lógica abductiva, DLA. This initiative stems from the results of the doctoral research and documentary analysis of DL. This analysis corroborates that didactics focus on sciences and disciplines that support the logic and, although they point out some strategies, they relegate the possibilities that the abduction provides to the DL. This allows the construction of a didactic strategy that -supported in the abduction -promotes in teachers and students a reasonable vision of logic, didactics and society; hence the nomination of didactics of abductive reasoning. Transfer to practiceThe article is framed in the pedagogical and research practices of the field of logic that does not deepen in the didactic component or understands it like an exercise of formulation of objectives and presentation of contents. For this reason, the abductive method is proposed in the didactics of logic and in the training of research teachers by promoting their place as subjects that apply their reasonableness, understood as a logical, aesthetic and ethical exercise that will, undoubtedly, lead to a better performance in their pedagogical practice. Abstract. Periodicity estimation in mechanical acoustic time-series data is a well-established problem in data mining as it can be applicable in variety of disciplines either for anomaly detection or for prediction purposes in industry. In this paper, we develop a new approach for capturing and characterizing periodic patterns in time-series data by virtue of the dynamic time warping (DTW). We have conducted extensive experiments to evaluate the proposed approach with synthetic data and our collected data in practice. Experimental results demonstrated its effectiveness and robustness on periodicity detection in highly noised data.
