“…We have also requested the ASThl to authorize the sale of a "biochemical" subdivision of the spectrum index and of the formula-name index. We have found the spectrum index of Clark (1950b), which consists of the wave lengths and relative absorptivities of the three strongest bands between 1100 and 670 cm.-' (9 and 15 p ) , to be useful in identifying pure compounds, and we may include such a spectrum index in a later report. A later report will also contain an atomic-formula index and a name index that is not subdivided by biochemical categories, as is the name index included here.…”
