Catalytic Disproportionation of Methyltrichlorosilane by AL-MCM-41 to Prepare Dichlorodimethylsilane

Abstract: Al-MCM-41 samples with various Si/Al ratios were prepared and then used to disproportionate methyltrichlorosilane (MTS) to produce dichlorodimethylsilane (DMCS). The catalysts were characterized by FT-IR, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), 27 Al magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance ( 27 Al MAS NMR), inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES), and N 2 absorption-desorption.
