The epoxidation of I-octene with t-butyl hydroperoxide in the presence of Mo(CO), has been studied. The influence of the crucial parameters on the yield of 1,2-epoxyoctane in relation to hydroperoxide, on the hydroperoxide conversion, on the selectivity of the transformation of 1 -octene to epoxy compound and on the yield of 1,2-epoxyoctane in relation to I-octene has been described by the use of regression functions in the form of a second order polynomial. The optimal values of parameters: reaction time, temperature, olefin to hydroperoxide mol ratio, Mo(CO), to hydroperoxide mol ratio, ensuring the maximum values of these functions have been determined.On a etudie I'epoxidation du 1-octene avec le hydroperoxyde de t-butyl en presence de Mo(CO)@ A I'aide de fonctions de regression polynomiale du second ordre, on decrit I'influence des parametres fondamentaux sur le rendement en 1,2-epoxyoctane en relation avec I'hydroperoxyde, la conversion de l'hydroperoxyde, la selectivite de la transformation de I-octene en composes epoxy ainsi que le rendement en 1,2-epoxyoctane en relation avec le I-octene. Les valeurs des parametres, a savoir le temps de reaction, la temperature, le rapport molaire olefine-hydroperoxyde, le rapport molaire Mo(C0)6-hydroperoxyde, assurant les valeurs maximales de ces fonctions, ont ete determinees.
