This study based on the context of university governance and focused on assuring teaching and learning quality for sustainable development in university. This study included the following concrete purposes: 1) Exploring the meaning and models of university governance; 2) Exploring the strategies of university governance for improving teaching quality and learning achievement; 3) Exploring the mechanism of assuring teaching and learning quality through university governance. In order to achieve above purposes, this study adopted interview and document analysis as methods.
Purposive sampling was used to select research cases and the cases included president, vice president, dean of department, dean of college and scholars in Taiwan and China. The frame of methodology included methods, research cases, research fields, data coding, truth and reliability and research ethics. According to literature review, interview and document analysis, result and discussion, the conclusion included following main points: 1)The meaning and models of university governance; 2) The characteristic of good governance; 3) The process and strategies of university governance for assuring teaching and learning quality; 4) The internal and external system of university governance; 5) The strategies of university governance; 6)The UGSI and USR's strategies; 7) The importance of creative teaching strategies and curriculum innovation for assuring teaching and learning quality and sustainable development. This study proposes thinking and reflection in the end.
