Abstract:Macromolecular engineering is defined as the total synthesis of tailor‐made macromolecules. The ultimate goal of this technology is to obtain a high degree of control over compositional and structural variables that affect the physical properties of macromolecules, including molecular weight, molecular weight distribution, end functionality, tacticity, stereochemistry, block sequence, and block topology, where the parameters of molecular characterization are well represented by the ensemble average. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
