Abstract: Nano-encapsulated manganese oxide (NEMO) particles are noteworthy contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) due to their bright, pH-switchable signal (“OFF” to “ON” at low pH), high metal loading, and targeting capability for increased specificity.
