CBCT – Cone Beam Computed Tomography

Abstract: Dental X- Rays are important for diagnosing and treating patients by helping to detect oral health issues when they can’t be detected by visual or physical examination alone. Dental X-Ray take a much closer look and provide valuable information in the area of interest. Though 2 Dimensional X-Ray and Panoramic radiography can predict diagnosis in number of clinical cases, certain situations demand multiplanar imaging, one such technology is CBCT. CBCT is a specialised 3Dimensional Craniofacial imaging in which … Show more

“…The root canal framework is the standard form being used to estimate root canal framework, for which the root canal network is stained and cleared (Kumar and Khambete, 2013;Kailash, . The entrance to the canal normally is shown as a C-formed aperture (arch 180 o ) in the con iguration of a band and also as a shallow semi-mounted ridge linking the canals including distal, mesio-buccal and mesio-lingual.…”

“…This may also be a C-shaped canal with both the association of proximal and mesio-lingual channels as well as a distinct mesiobuccal tube. This is essential to stress the fact that somehow this C-shaped modi ications in the morphology will take place over the entire stretch of the racinum, which exacerbates the phases of the bio-mechanical procedures and shut-off of the teeth for this form of internal morphology (Kailash, 2014;Solomonov et al, 2012;Wang et al, 2012). Endodontics was not an independent technology with the utilization of ampli ication.…”

“…It may not always be clinically important because it illustrates the inconsistency of normal growth in mandible bone. [3][4][5][6] CBCT provides ideal image of the anatomical structures of high contrast and is especially useful for evaluating bone. For this reason, CBCT is rapidly replacing conventional CT and conventional radiography in clinical orthodontic practice.…”

“…The first attempts to capture image of the whole jaw were taken with intraoral radiation sources at the beginning of the 20th century. Panoramic radiography was first introduced in 1948 and almost 50 years later, in 1995 the first digital sensor for panoramic unit was applied [37].…”
