CBX7 Inhibits Cell Growth and Motility and Induces Apoptosis in Cervical Cancer Cells

Abstract: The chromobox protein homolog 7 (CBX7), one member of the polycomb group family, has been characterized mainly to play a tumor-suppressive role in human malignant neoplasias. Moreover, downregulation of CBX7 is correlated with poor prognosis and aggressiveness in a variety of human cancers. However, the biological functions and role of CBX7 in cervical cancer have not been elucidated. In the present study, we explore whether CBX7 exerts its tumor-suppressive function in cervical cancer. To achieve this goal, m… Show more

“…Accumulating evidence indicates that decreased CBX7 may also serve as an adverse prognostic biomarker for colon carcinoma patients [26]. The latest study reveals that CBX7 inhibits cell motility and cell growth and induces apoptosis in cervical cancer [27]. The present study showed that decreased CBX7 expression in CESC, this result is consistent with ndings for CBX7 expression in other types of tumors.…”

“…In conclusion, Foxp3 is a risk factor for the survival of cervical cancer, which is consistent with our current findings. CBX7 inhibits the proliferation of cervical cancer cells [ 43 ]. LTA inhibits the proliferation of CD4(+) T-cells in a FoxP3(+) Treg-dependent manner in patients with chronic hepatitis C, suggesting that LTA acts on FoxP3 [ 44 ].…”

“…Cells were incubated in six-well plates overnight and transfected with miR-506 mimics, Skp2 cDNA, Skp2 siRNA or a combination for 72 hours. Then the cells were collected and apoptosis was analyzed [ 41 ].…”

“…Treated cells were centrifuged and lysed by RIPA lysis buffer, and proteins in cell lysates were subjected to SDS-PAGE and further transferred to PVDF membrane. The western blotting was done as described before [ 41 ].…”
